Kamloops Speed Skating Club, November Chill Meet.Twelve members of the Kamloops River City racers speed skating club took part in the November Chill New Gold short track speed skating competition in Kamloops over the weekend.  The racers were represented by 9 young skaters in division 1 with AJ Timewell leading the pack with 2 A final placings and 3 personal best times.  Alexander Willis also placed in an A final with one personal best time.  Finn Boggetti Smith set two personal best times in this division.  Other racers in this division  all set three personal best times and were as followes:  Margaret Jean Willis, James Waterman, Sophia Pankratz,Oliver Stanton, Summer Boggetti Smith and Claire Riel.  
In division 2 Tim Mburu placed first in two A finals and second in his other A finals. He set personal bests in each distance he raced.  Brett Riel was racing in this division for his first time and set personal best times in all distances he entered.
In the Masters division, the racers were represented by Roman Hessel who placed 4th in each of his finals setting personal bests in each distance.

In other Racer action, siblings Sara and Eric Spence took part in the Calgary series #4 Short Track competition.  Eric raced in the male B division and placed 4th in C final of the 1000m with a new personal best; placed 5th in the A final of the 1500m and 4th in the C final of the 500m.
Sara raced in the female A division and set 2 new personal best times.  She placed first in the C final of the 500m with a personal best of 47.8; second in the B final of the 1500m with a new best of 2:33.33; and second in the B final of the 1000m.  These times may qualify Sara to compete in the Junior National ST trials in Toronto on December 15 and 16.

Later this week , in Calgary, Sara will be joining her sister Josie Spence as a selected skater to take part in the Regional Junior World Cup Long Track event.  The top 5 junior female skaters in Canada in each distance qualified to take part in this event.  Siblings Eric and Tori Spence will be competing in the CANAM portion of the competition.
